Three rounds.
Three trials.
The tournament runs online on the ARSOVENTUS platform. After each round the strongest participants go through — and the circle narrows.
I
Open round
Knowledge of facts
24 hours
Everyone who registered takes part. Within a limited time you answer questions in both multiple-choice and long form — testing factual knowledge of the history of art. The round produces a winner and prize-winners (25% of all participants).
II
Semi-final
Analysis of a work
24 hours
The winner and prize-winners of the first round take part. The task is to give the fullest possible artistic analysis of a chosen work. This tests the ability to read works of art. The round produces a winner and 10 prize-winners.
III
Final
An original project
48 hours
Finalists produce a project on a chosen subject — in any format: an article, an essay, visual material, video. The finished work is sent to the tournament’s email. The jury names the three prize-winners.

Tournament I · November 2022
Season one.
The tournament’s first season: four partners, two drawing schools and the Shchusev Museum of Architecture. The open round tested knowledge of facts; the final tested the ability to speak about a work in one’s own words.

Season two.
A wider circle of museums: the AZ Museum, the Bulgakov Museum, the Andrei Rublev Museum, the MARS Centre and the Glazunov Gallery. The winner of the final received a course at the Diskurs olympiad school.

Season three.
The debut of the partnership with Arzamas: winners received six-month subscriptions. The main prize was tickets to the State Kremlin Palace and a certificate from Agena Art.
