Jacek Yerka is a Polish neo-surrealist whose paintings resemble intricate dreams, where the medieval architecture of his native Toruń is intricately intertwined with pastoral landscapes and domestic interiors of the 1950s.
Having developed his own unique style of realistic surrealism, he remained true to himself even in the face of pressure from his teachers, defending his own vision of the world. He achieved international fame in 1994, when American science fiction writer Harlan Ellison, inspired by his work, created thirteen short stories specifically for it.
Today, Yerka's exhibitions are regularly held in Europe and the United States, and his paintings, held in private collections around the world, serve as vivid evidence of an extraordinary gift, comparable in strength to the great masters of the past.
